Fall is undoubtedly one of the best times to be a photographer, as the leaves change and give rise to brilliant scenes full of vibrant and dramatic colors. To make sure you are able to take full advantage of the season, check out this fantastic video tutorial that details 13 helpful tips for better fall images along with a lot of great example images.

Coming to you from Photo Tom, this excellent video tutorial details 13 helpful tips to help you get the most out of photographing autumn. One lesson I learned the hard way a few years ago is the importance of keeping a very close eye on foliage and weather forecasts. The period of maximum color is normally fairly narrow (often on the order of a couple weeks), but a few years ago, due to some unusual weather, we only had about three days of good color (and only one where it was not raining horribly) before a lot of the leaves dropped. Luckily, I scrambled into position on the morning of good weather and got a few decent shots, but had I been a bit more proactive and kept better tabs on the forecasts, I could have had a plan in place to visit several locations in an efficient manner and come home with a lot more shots. Check out the video above for a lot of helpful tips.
