A good wide-aperture 50mm lens is a staple in the bags of many photographers, and while the Sony Planar T* FE 50mm f/1.4 ZA is definitely on the expensive side of things, it delivers fantastic images. If you are wondering if it is worth the premium price tag, check out this great video review to see what you can expect from the lens.
Coming to you from Christopher Frost Photography, this excellent video review takes a look at the Sony Planar T* FE 50mm f/1.4 ZA lens. I will be the first to admit that the 50mm focal length is my least used, as I am just terribly uncreative and awkward with it, but when I reviewed the Sony a7 III and got to use this lens, I have to say I was really inspired by just how clean and sharp every image was, and it made a difference in my experience with the focal length. It is definitely a fantastic lens, and with an 11-blade diaphragm, it produces particularly smooth and unobtrusive bokeh that, when combined with its ultra-sharp rendering, creates images that simply pop off the screen with an almost three-dimensional effect. Check out the video above for Frost’s full thoughts.
