Helpful Advice for Young Photographers

If you are young and new to photography, you might be wondering how to set yourself on the right track to become successful as you get older. This excellent video gives a lot of helpful advice for younger photographers and is well worth a watch.

Coming to you from Robin Wong, this excellent video gives a lot of helpful advice for younger photographers. Though everything Wong says is important, one bit I think is particularly worth listening to is why you should avoid seeking validation. This is more of a problem nowadays than ever before. With the internet and social media, it is easier than ever to instantly see the work of thousands of other photographers. And that is not necessarily a bad thing, as you can draw inspiration more easily than ever and learn from many other talented creatives. On the flip side, though, if you buy into trends too much, you can end up trying to make your work like what is popular instead of figuring out who you are as a creative and how to leave your own unique mark on the industry. This is something to be especially careful about when you are young, as that is when you are developing your style the most. Check out the video above for a lot of helpful advice from Wong.
