The Unique Zeiss ZX1 Camera With Lightroom Built in Is Finally Available for Order

The Zeiss ZX1 is one of the most unique cameras to come along in a while, but it has been a long wait for it to come to the market. The wait is finally over, as you can preorder the ZX1 starting today.

The Zeiss ZX1 is one of the most interesting cameras in quite some time, featuring Android OS that runs Lightroom directly on the camera, allowing you to edit images without needing a computer or phone. Other features include:

  • 37.4-megapixel full frame sensor
  • Native ISO range of 80-51,200
  • Continuous burst rate of 3 fps
  • 4K video at up to 30 fps
  • Built-in ZEISS Distagon T* 35mm f/2 lens with two double-sided aspherical elements for reduced spherical aberrations and distortion and increase sharpness
  • Leaf shutter design that allows flash sync at all shutter speeds
  • 255-area AF system
  • Direct manual control of all three exposure parameters
  • OLED EVF with 0.74x magnification
  • 4.34″ rear LCD touchscreen with 1,280 by 720 resolution
  • Integrated 512 GB SSD
  • Automatic wireless backup capabilities

While I am not sure I would want to use Lightroom directly on a camera for extended periods of time, I love the integrated SSD and automatic file syncing capabilities and would certainly love to see such features in other cameras. You can preorder the Zeiss ZX1 here.
